🎉 The journey has begun! Asia Pacific University proudly presents the SIMATS Student Mobility Programme – an enlightening 5-day event hosted by ISUC, with the generous support of the School of Engineering and Business. 🚀 We’re delighted to have 12 brilliant minds from India join us for an incredible retreat filled with learning, sharing, and growth.
Led by our beloved Dr. Stephen Poon (Chair & Head of Research Centre), Ms. Cynthia Mala Paul Dorairaj (Student Chapter Advisor and Executive Committee, as well as from School of Business), Dr. Sathish Kumar Selva Perumal the ISUC Committee, magnificent Project Coordinator Team (PCT) Leaders, Khoo Lay Yang and Sai Htoo Myat Naing, the tireless efforts of our Communication Team (CT), Isaac(Leader) & Eden(Deputy Leader), and the captivating Art Direction Team (ADT) Naman Sharma(Leader).
📅 Day 1 – July 24, 2023:
“Exploring Technology and Sustainability” 🌿💡
The excitement was palpable as the first day unfolded, all centered around the captivating fusion of technology and sustainability. Our heartfelt welcome and opening session at 9:30 a.m. set the tone for a journey of exploration and innovation.
🔍 Session Highlights:
🔹 Session 1 – Fuzzy Logic by Dr. Vazeerudeen Hameed: Unveiling the intricacies of this cutting-edge concept that blends human-like reasoning with computational power.
🔹 Session 2 – Ergonomics Paradigm: Design Changes Impact Human Factors by Dr. Stephen Poon: Delving into how design choices influence our interaction with technology and the world around us.
The eagerness to learn and exchange ideas was truly inspiring! Stay tuned as we continue to unravel a tapestry of knowledge, collaboration, and the pursuit of a sustainable future.

The journey continues with a focus on the captivating realm of IoT (Internet of Things) and communication. It’s all about connecting the dots and shaping the future of technology!

🔹 Session 3 – Robotics by Ir Dr Ilanur Muhaini Binti Mohd Noor
🔹 Session 4 – Communication by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nasri Bin Sulaiman (Special Invitation – University of Putra Malaysia)
🔹 Session 5 – IoT for Consumer Applications by Dr. Chandrasekaharan Nataraj
🔊 The day began with an intriguing session on Robotics, where Dr. Ilanur Muhaini Binti Mohd Noor sparked our curiosity about the wonders of robotic technology and Arduino programming. 🤖💡
🎙 Next, we had the privilege of hosting Prof. Dr. Nasri Bin Sulaiman, who provided invaluable insights into communication in the digital age. 🗣🌐
🌍 And after a delightful lunch break, Dr. Chandrasekaharan Nataraj led a session on IoT for consumer applications, unraveling the incredible possibilities of interconnected devices and their impact on our lives. 📲🌐

🌟 Day 3, July 26, 2023: “Exploring IoT and Digital Twin” 🌐🤖
Another day of inspiration and innovation as we delve deeper into the world of IoT (Internet of Things) and the fascinating concept of Digital Twin!
📚 Session Highlights:
🔹 Session 6 – IoT and Digital Twin by Ir Narendran Ramasendran:
🔹 Session 7 – IoT Smart Cities: Opportunities and Challenges by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Raed Mohammed Taher Abdulla
🚁 The day took flight with an engaging session on IoT and Digital Twin, led by Ir Narendran Ramasendran. Students took part in exhilarating hands-on activities involving drones and the Mbot! 🛰️🤖
🏙️ After a well-deserved lunch break, the spotlight shifted to Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Raed Mohammed Taher Abdulla, who unravelled the possibilities and challenges of IoT in the realm of smart cities. 🌆💡

As we near the end of this remarkable journey, we had dived into the captivating world of innovative thinking and design that shapes our future!

🔹 Last Session – Closing Ceremony and Award Certificate Ceremony
🎨 Ir Jacqueline Lukose led us through an incredible journey of design thinking for engineers, igniting creative sparks to solve real-world problems and meet clients’ needs. 💡🛠️
🌍 Ma’am Cynthia Mala Paul Dorairaj empowered our students to align their business ideas with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), fostering innovation for a better world. 🌱🚀
💡 The journey continued with workshops that challenged our minds and inspired innovative solutions for sustainability. From creative brainstorming to impactful presentations, our students embraced the power of design thinking.
🏆 The finale arrived with a grand Closing Ceremony and the Award Certificate Ceremony, celebrating our collective growth and accomplishments throughout the programme.
