The launching of Malaysia’s new development blueprint of Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 (SPV 2030) which aims to develop a fair and equitable distribution of economic development at all levels by 2030, reflected the commitment by Malaysia in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDG 2030).
Malaysia has also committed to Zero Net Carbon by 2050. Several initiatives were introduced such as Green Technology Master Plan Malaysia, National Cleanliness Policy and The Malaysia Plastic Sustainability Roadmap 2021-2030 towards realizing the targets. Involvement and commitment from individuals, organizations and companies of all sectors are very crucial in achieving the targets. A holistic effort is required to widen the acceptance and implementation of green initiatives in line with the government aspiration to become a carbon neutral country by 2050.
